This is part one in understanding what crippled the Mac Pro 2,1 and how we can find ways of continuing to get great value from these amazing pieces of equipment. They have aged well, like most Apple hardware, it’s a good looking thing.
The guts of the machine aren’t much by todays standards, but back in the day, it was something special. Today it still has a lot to offer, especially to the casual computer user, there is however a big challenge with these first generation Mac Pro’s, they have something called an EFI, which is like a BIOS from the legacy PC days, but what they’ve smashed inside the Mac Pro 1,1 and 2,1 was not an industry agreed standard, as such, it’s a bit unusual.
**A bit unusual is the nice way of saying it’s really a pain in the neck. **
This video explores the Mac Pro 2,1, we’ll look at what it can do, what it can do with some help and what our plans are for future content regarding this machine.
